Square pixie baby blanket

Yarn: DK weight
Needles:  5 mm
4 stitch markers
Yarn and needles are just a guideline, you can use whatever you want.
Vocabulary:
K=knit
YO= yarn over
KFB= knit front and back
SSK= Slip slip knit
KTBL =  knit through back loop
SLIP 1 K2TOG PSSO = slip 1 stitch, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over
K2TOG = knit 2 stitches together
*-* repeat this 4 times - around
Round 22 - 29 will be the rounds that will be repeated, with the pattern between the (-) repeated with one more repeat for each time the round is repeated.
Cast on 8 stitches with your preferred method.
Place round start marker.
Round 1 :Kfb in all the stitches = 16 stithes
Round 2:  *K1, YO, K2, YO, K1, PM*
Round 3, and all oddnumbered rounds: *K1, KTBL, knit until 2 stitches before marker, KTBL, K1*
Round 4: *K1, YO, K4, YO, K1*
After round  5 you will now start with the pattern.
Round 6: *K1, YO, K3, YO, SSK, K1, YO, K1*

Round 26: *K1, YO, K2, (K1,  K2TOG, YO, K3,YO, SSK) x 3, YO, K1*
Round 28: *K1, YO, K4, (K2, YO, SLIP 1 K2TOG PSSO, YO, K3) x 3, YO, K1*

Continue with rounds 22 - 28 until you reach the size you want. I had 120 stitches between the markers when I did two rounds of only doing YO before and after the stitch markers. That put me at 124 stitches between markers.
Now I started with the edge border along with the increasing at the markers at the same time.
The border is knitted as follows:
Round 1: *K1, YO, K1, (YO, K4, Slip 1 K2TOG PSSO, K4, YO, K1) K1, YO, K1* repeat the pattern between the (-) as many times as you need to. I did 11 repeats between the markers.
Round 2: Knit all the stitches
Round 3: *K1, YO, K2,(YO, K4, Slip 1 K2TOG PSSO, K4, YO, K1) K2, YO, K1*as round 1
Round 4: Knit all the stitches
Round 5: *K1, YO, K3,(YO, K4, Slip 1 K2TOG PSSO, K4, YO, K1) K3, YO, K1*as round 1
Round 6: Bind of loosely. I used "Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind off" http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/FEATjssbo.php
Weave in ends and block flat.
